The ,Arbeitskreis Europäische Jugendwochen auf Burg Ludwigstein e. V.‘ was founded over 60 years ago to encourage young people from different countries to get to know each other. Only through a mutual understanding of the different cultures can cross-border friendships be formed. We still feel deeply committed to these principles today.
We are shocked by the escalation of the situation in Europe and would like to urge for a peaceful dialogue. Especially now, in difficult political times, it is important to maintain dialogue through cultural bridges. These bridges can be built by each one of us. Maybe you have an almost forgotten friend abroad. Maybe it is time to call them again or write them a letter. Maybe this way we can set a sign for peace in Europe.
Our thoughts are with our friends abroad. We fear with them for the health and the life of their families and friends. We still hope for a peaceful solution of the conflict.
We are proud that we were able to welcome an Ukrainian group twice to the Ludwigstein:
“Horitsvit” aus Lviv (Lemberg) in 1993:
“Veselka” aus Komsomolsk in 2002:
