Eurowoche – European Youth Week
The European Youth Week is a unique youth and folklore festival. Every summer, nearly 200 young people from at least four different European countries meet at Burg Ludwigstein to live together for a week, working, singing and dancing together. The young people showcase wonderful folklore from their home countries during their performances. Through workshops and various activities, they grow closer. Over the course of the week, a great community emerges – a European family.
The Eurowoche was founded in 1953 by Hella Heynmöller with the goal of bringing together young people from Europe and the world so they can get to know each other and understand each other’s cultures. It aims to contribute to understanding between peoples and to peace in the world. The gathering is organised by the non-profit association “Arbeitskreis Europäische Jugendwochen Burg Ludwigstein e.V.”.
